The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Uzuki Coco’s hit manga Koi seyo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo has revealed its main cast. During the AniplexOneFocus program aired on September 11, it was announced that Nao Oshika will voice protagonist Katsuragi Otogi, and Taido Saka will voice Ninomae Toki.
The original manga, serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Dessert since 2023, has become a phenomenon. With a cumulative circulation exceeding 2.35 million copies (as of September 2026), it has won multiple awards, including the Kodansha Manga Award. The series is known for its beautiful character designs, personality gaps, and the secret shared between the two leads.
MAPPA, the studio behind numerous hit titles, is handling the animation production. The announcement came alongside a new cast reveal PV that showcases the “public face” and “true face” of the two characters.
Oshika, who plays Otogi, shared her excitement: “Otogi-chan, who is strong-willed and straightforward, is a girl I admire, so I was so happy I jumped when I passed the audition. I’m sure everyone will be captivated by the gap between the face she shows the world and her true self. I will carefully portray her emotions as she gradually changes and grows through her interactions with Toki-kun and the other characters.”
Saka, who plays Toki, said: “When I read the original, I was completely drawn in by Toki’s gap between his ‘public’ and ‘private’ sides. He appears kind and calm to everyone, seeming truly perfect, but deep inside, he has another face he shows no one. I’m glad I was able to use all my experience to bring this complex and charming character to life. I hope you enjoy the story of these two and the delicate, vivid world that only the two of them know.”

When I read the original, I was completely taken in by Toki’s gap between his public and private sides. He is kind and gentle to everyone, appearing truly perfect, but behind that lies another face he shows no one… In the audition, I poured in all the experience I’ve built up, so I’m truly happy to be able to play such a deep and fascinating character. I hope you enjoy the story of these two and the subtle, vibrant world they share!
The music is being produced by Kensuke Ushio, known for his work on Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and the NHK morning drama Bake Bake. The actual composition will be handled by Yūnosuke Senoo and Yūki Kurihara, who also worked on Shunkashūtō Daikōsha Haru no Mai. Ushio commented: “I want to try to turn into music the things that cannot be said between the expressions one shows to others and the emotions that spill out. Please look forward to it.”
