Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite Creator Announces Two New Manga

Uoto, the creator behind Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite, announced on their X account that they have two new manga projects in the works. The announcements came on Friday and Saturday, revealing one title set to debut later this year and another planned for early 2027.

Hallucination Meat

The first project, Hallucination Meat, is slated to begin serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine within this year. No further details about the story or setting were provided at the time of the announcement.

Test Taker/Cheaters

The second title, Test Taker/Cheaters, will see Uoto handling the story while Kyou Yoneshiro provides the artwork. It is expected to launch in Kodansha’s monthly Afternoon magazine at the beginning of 2027.

Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite: Background

Uoto serialized Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite in Big Comic Spirits from September 2020 to April 2022, with Shogakukan collecting the series in eight volumes between December 2020 and June 2022. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for English release and published all eight volumes in four omnibus editions from November 2023 to December 2024.

The manga has received considerable critical acclaim. It won the Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, placed second in the Male Readers category of the 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings, and was nominated for the 15th Manga Taisho Award and the 46th Kodansha Manga Awards in the General category.

An anime adaptation by Madhouse aired from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025, spanning 25 episodes. Netflix streamed the series worldwide after its Japanese broadcast.
