The “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica” anime and CONVERSE TOKYO are teaming up again for a second collaboration. The new lineup includes T-shirts inspired by the series’ witches and an adorable charm featuring Bebe. Sales will begin on September 18, 2026, at all CONVERSE TOKYO stores except the Gotemba outlet, as well as the official online store.
About the Series
“Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica” is an original anime directed by Shinbo Akiyuki, with scripts by Urobuchi Gen (Nitroplus), original character designs by Aoki Ume, and animation production by SHAFT. The story follows ordinary middle school student Kaname Madoka as she encounters a mysterious fate, exploring the story of magical girls born from wishes.
The series is renowned for its deceptively cute designs that give way to unpredictable, thrilling developments, blending the everyday lives of the girls with avant-garde visuals from the theater group Inu Curry, who handle SHAFT’s visual and otherworldly space designs, and dramatic BGM by Kajiura Yuki. It has received high praise across many fields.
After the 12-episode TV series aired in 2011, two compilation films—”Beginnings” and “Eternal”—were released in 2012, followed by the completely new film “Rebellion” in 2013. The latest movie in the series, “Gekijouban Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten,” is currently showing in theaters.
Second Collaboration Focuses on Witches
This collaboration spotlights the witches that shape the unique world of the 2013 film “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Rebellion.” The lineup includes T-shirts themed after the Candy Witch, Mermaid Witch, and Stage Construction Witch (Walpurgisnacht), plus a charm modeled on Bebe.
The “WITCH TEE” (11,000 yen including tax) features a black body that lets the witches stand out. The front features a single symbolic motif for each witch, while the back combines a large star—a symbol of CONVERSE TOKYO—with the witch’s form. The three designs correspond to the Candy Witch, Mermaid Witch, and Stage Construction Witch (Walpurgisnacht).
The “CANDY POUCH CHARM” (9,350 yen including tax) captures Bebe’s lovable appearance with a playful design. A vivid pink candy-shaped pouch is paired with a black star-shaped part depicting Bebe and a small cheese-shaped accessory, incorporating elements that evoke Bebe throughout.
Bonus Card for Buyers
Additionally, customers who purchase eligible items will receive a card featuring the artwork of six magical girls drawn by artist Samehoshi for the first collaboration. The six girls are Kaname Madoka, Akemi Homura, Tomoe Mami, Miki Sayaka, Sakura Kyoko, and Momoe Nagisa. One of the six designs will be given at random, and the bonus is limited in quantity, so it will end once supplies run out.
The second collaboration between “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica” and CONVERSE TOKYO goes on sale September 18, 2026. Following the first wave featuring the magical girls, this new drop expresses the series’ world through items themed after its witches.
