Fans of Kimetsu no Yaiba have a new treat to look forward to. The anime’s latest confectionery merchandise, the Demon Slayer Corps Wagashi Set I (鬼殺隊 和菓子セット 壱), packs four kinds of traditional Japanese sweets into an original wooden barrel marked with the ‘Metsu’ (滅) character. Sales begin September 18, 2026.
The set is based on the Kimetsu no Yaiba series, created by Gotouge Koyoharu. The story follows Kamado Tanjirou, whose family is murdered by demons, and his mission to turn his sister Nezuko back into a human. The manga has surpassed 220 million cumulative copies in print. The TV anime began broadcasting in April 2019, and the film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Castle Arc – Chapter 1: Akaza’s Return was released on July 18, 2025, with most theaters ending its run on April 9, 2026.
Four Sweets in a Specialty Barrel
The barrel contains a carefully selected lineup of wagashi, each designed with motifs from the series:
- Monaka with a ‘Metsu’ design (using Hokkaido azuki beans, tsubu-an)
- Konpeito inspired by wisteria flowers
- Rakugan featuring ‘Metsu’ and the wisteria family crest (with wasanbon sugar)
- Wa-ramune decorated with the Demon Slayer Corps members (with wasanbon sugar and Yoshino kuzu from Nara)
Beautiful Barrel That Doubles as Storage
The wooden barrel is crafted from domestic wood using traditional wooden joinery. The front boldly features the ‘Metsu’ character, while the back displays the anime’s official logo, so the container can be appreciated from every angle. Once the sweets are enjoyed, the barrel can be reused as a storage box for small items, plush toys, or even a piggy bank.
