The 12th and final episode of Grand Blue Season 3 (Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3) ended with an announcement that a fourth season is now in production. The official website also shared an announcement visual for the upcoming season.
Produced by Zero-G, the first season aired in Summer 2018 with 12 episodes. The second season followed in Summer 2025. The third season, co-produced by Zero-G and Saber Works, premiered on July 7. Amazon Prime Video streamed the first season, while Crunchyroll simulcast the second and third seasons with subtitles in multiple languages.
The anime adapts the seinen comedy manga by Inoue Kenji and Yoshioka Kimitake, which began serialization in good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. Kodansha published the 26th volume on April 7, with the 27th scheduled for October 7. The series has over 11 million copies in print. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English back in November 2017 and released the 24th volume on August 18.
A live-action film by Warner Bros. Japan opened in August 2020 and grossed over 452 million yen (approximately US$3.1 million).
