San-X’s nostalgic character Tarepanda is back with a brand-new merchandise theme, “Itsumo no Tarepanda” (Always Tarepanda), designed to sit quietly alongside fans’ everyday lives now and in the future. The droopy panda first made its debut in 1998, and even in the Reiwa era, it continues to drape itself near us, unchanged.
True to its name, Tarepanda’s signature drooping pose and sluggish movements make it an unforgettable sight. It loves suama (a type of sweet rice cake), moves at a speed of 2.75 km/h, and tends to appear beside you without warning. Touch it and it feels soft, even a little damp. There is also a harder version known as “Meka Tarepanda,” which leans over stiffly.
The new “Itsumo no Tarepanda” lineup covers all the essentials for daily use: stationery, trendy stickers, pouches, tote bags, and pass cases, among other items.

For writing and organizing, the lineup includes a memo pad with 80 sheets in four designs, a colorful B6SP notebook, a clear file holder for sorting documents, and two types of stickers, including the puffy “Pukutto Aurora Sticker” version.

New plush toys are also joining the lineup. With fluffy fur that invites you to touch and squish, these are distinctly “Tarepanda-like” in the best way. Highlights include a hand-sized plush set paired with Tarepanda’s favorite suama, a soft-bottomed plush that feels great to squeeze, and pastel blue and check-patterned “Atsumete” plushies.
