The finale of Kore Kaite Shine has opened the door for more. The 12th and final episode ended on Saturday with an announcement that a second season is in production. The official website also shared an announcement visual to mark the news.
Shin-Ei Animation produces the television anime, which adapts Toyoda Minoru’s comedy drama manga. The series began airing on July 3, and Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with English subtitles and dubs.
Manga Run and English Release
Toyoda Minoru launched the manga in Gessan magazine in November 2021. Shogakukan published the tenth volume on July 10.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English on October 22 last year and released the first volume on August 11. The second volume is scheduled to arrive on November 3.
Awards and Recognition
Kore Kaite Shine won the 16th Manga Taisho Awards in 2023 and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2025, sharing the latter honor with Shakunetsu Kabaddi, Natsume Arata no Kekkon, and Puniru wa Kawaii Slime.
The manga also placed sixth in the 2023 edition of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings in the Male Readers category.
Synopsis
Yasumi Ai, a first-year high school student living on Izu-Oshima, loves manga more than anything. When she learns that her long-admired, yet long-inactive, favorite manga artist Hoshi no Rei will be exhibiting at COMITIA, she sets off on a journey to Tokyo.
