Craft Candy Theater PAPABUBBLE is bringing back two premium candy collections inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas and Disney Villains. Both will be released on October 1, 2026 at stores nationwide and through the PAPABUBBLE online store.
The Nightmare Before Christmas / Candy Mix
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a stop-motion animated film with an original story and production by Tim Burton. It follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he becomes captivated by the cheerful world of Christmas Town and plans his own Christmas, setting off a series of chaotic events. The film was released in Japan in 1994.
PAPABUBBLE’s re-release includes a The Nightmare Before Christmas / Candy Mix priced at 880 yen. First released last year and well received, it returns for the Halloween season. The dark, fantastical world of the film is captured in each piece of candy through PAPABUBBLE’s craftsmanship.
The designs faithfully reproduce the stitches on protagonist Jack’s mouth, use translucent candy to make ghost dog Zero appear to float, and show the silhouette of Oogie Boogie against a full moon. These motifs from the film are rendered with delicate handwork. With black, blue, and yellow accents, the dark coloring gives the collection a world that mixes fright with humor and playfulness.
Disney Villains / Candy Mix
A Villains / Candy Mix, also priced at 880 yen, returns with motifs inspired by Disney villains.
The lineup includes flavors inspired by Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Cruella from 101 Dalmatians, and Scar from The Lion King. These distinctive limited flavors use the characters’ iconic symbols and color schemes, expressed by hand to convey each villain’s personality through color, taste, and pattern.
The flavors add sourness and spice alongside sweetness, making them fun to look at and surprising to eat. The flavor design is intended for adults to enjoy as well, and the candies are a fitting treat for Halloween and other event seasons.
