A Worldwide Hit with 57 Million Copies in Circulation
Kusuriya no Hitorigoto has surpassed 57 million copies in cumulative circulation worldwide. The series follows Maomao as she takes on difficult cases, combining sharp heroine appeal with authentic mystery. The human drama woven within the rear palace, including her connection with the beautiful noble Jinshi, has resonated with a wide range of readers. The first and second anime seasons dominated rankings on streaming services, and more than 2,000 North American fans gathered for the series at Anime Expo 2025, underscoring its global popularity.
Second USJ Collaboration, Built Around the New Film
This is the second USJ collaboration for the series, following the successful Universal Cool Japan 2025. The new program is tied to Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouhi no Hihou, which is scheduled to open on December 11. It is a complete renewal of the 2025 Mystery Walk, in which visitors solved the mystery of an incident alongside Maomao. Set in a water city connected to the film, the new experience will bring the protagonists before guests as if they have stepped out of the work itself.
