MAYLA, a brand known for ladies’ items, has unveiled the “Nintama Rantaro Iconic Skirt,” a new piece inspired by the grade colors of Ninjutsu Academy’s fifth- and sixth-year students in the anime Nintama Rantaro. The design catches the eye with a silhouette that calls to mind ninja attire.
The anime Nintama Rantaro is based on the ninja gag manga Rakudai Ninja Rantaro by Amako Soubee. Set at Ninjutsu Academy, it comically follows Rantaro, Shinbe-e, Kirimaru, and others as they struggle to become first-rate ninja. The TV series has been broadcast since 1993 and has been loved by a wide range of generations.
On December 20, 2024, Gekijouban Nintama Rantaro Dokutake Ninjatai Saikyou no Gunshi was released, adapting the novel Shousetsu Rakudai Ninja Rantaro Dokutake Ninjatai Saikyou no Gunshi. The story begins when Doi-sensei goes to duel the Tasogaredoki ninja Moroizumi Sonnamon and then disappears, leading into a more serious turn than usual for Nintama Rantaro.

MAYLA’s Nintama Rantaro Iconic Skirt
The MAYLA-produced “Nintama Rantaro Iconic Skirt” comes in two colors: purple, inspired by the fifth-year students including Kukuchi Heisuke, and green, inspired by the sixth-year students including Zenpouji Isaku.
The skirt packs the world of Nintama Rantaro into its design. It features a ribbon inspired by the obi knot of a ninja outfit, an asymmetrical skirt shape that expresses a ninja’s speed and dynamism, and a ribbon that calls to mind a scroll.
As shown in the wearing image, the layered, wrap-obi-style design and the long, trailing ribbon give the skirt a ninja-like sense of movement. The black fabric on the side evokes ninja tools and blades, lending a sharp impression. Sizes are available in M and L.
