About the Series
Ranma 1/2 is a martial-arts romantic comedy based on Takahashi Rumiko’s manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1987 issue 36 to 1996 issue 12 and remains hugely popular. The story begins when Saotome Genma and his son Ranma arrive at the Tendou household after training in China. Instead, a giant panda and a cute girl appear. After his training in China, Ranma has a strange condition: cold water turns him into a girl, and hot water turns him back into a boy. Ranma and the colorful people around him cry, laugh, and sometimes fall in love.
Directed by Uda Kounosuke and animated by MAPPA, this completely new anime adaptation began its first season in October 2024. The return of main cast members such as Yamaguchi Kappei as Saotome Ranma, Hayashibara Megumi as Ranma, and Hidaka Noriko as Tendou Akane (with 高 read as “hashigodaka”) became a major topic, and the series has continued to generate excitement. After a second season aired on NTV networks from October 2025, the long-awaited third season began in October.

One day, with summer vacation approaching, a challenge letter from Ryouga arrives at Ranma’s place.
The two exchange blows again, but the difference in strength is obvious: Ranma has grown stronger while being tormented by Cologne, Shampoo’s great-grandmother.
Humiliated and burning for revenge against Ranma, Ryouga is approached by Cologne. What is Cologne aiming for?
