Tamashii Web is accepting preorders for the DX Chogokin VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Machine) from Chou Jikuu Yousai Macross. The item is priced at 36,300 yen (tax included / shipping and handling fees separate), with shipment planned for March 2027.
A First DX Chogokin Release for Max’s VF-1J
Chou Jikuu Yousai Macross is the first entry in the Macross series, which began broadcasting in 1982. Its story follows civilian pilot Ichijou Hikaru as he is drawn into a war with the giant alien Zentradi, with the narrative built around songs, mecha, and a love triangle.
The DX Chogokin VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Machine) recreates the VF-1J Super Valkyrie flown by the genius ace pilot Max, also known as Maximilian Jenius.
This Max-spec VF-1J is the first to be made as a DX Chogokin. Whether equipped with the Super Pack or not, it can transform through the familiar three modes: Fighter, Battroid, and Gerwalk. A reconfigurable stand that allows display in all three forms is included.
Super Pack, Reaction Missiles, and TV-Style Details
The Super Pack’s wings can be equipped with reaction missiles, giving the figure a hefty presence. The arm missile launchers reproduce the TV version’s shape, and the wrist parts include round fingers reminiscent of the TV version.
Preorders have already begun, and the order period runs from October 2, 2026.
