The fall 2026 anime dreamland has unveiled the synopsis and advance scene cuts for its first episode, “Terence,” which begins airing on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

A French Battle Fantasy With a Long History
dreamland is a battle fantasy based on the shonen manga drawn by French author Reno Lemaire. The series has been loved in France for many years and holds cult popularity there, with cumulative print circulation in the country surpassing 800,000 copies. Lemaire is a great lover of Japan, and the original manga is filled with respect for Japanese manga.
At the helm is director Juan Pablo Machado, who grew up watching Japanese anime and is known for incorporating the expressive techniques unique to Japanese animation. Animation production is handled by Ellipse & La Chouette Compagnie, a French studio regarded as one of the country’s most capable. In Japan, the series airs in a fully localized version featuring Japanese voice actors.

Story
Ever since his mother died in a fire, Terence has been tormented by a fear of flames. That fear follows him even after he falls asleep, pursuing him as nightmares. Then one night, inside a nightmare, he realizes that he is dreaming, and at last overcomes his terror of fire. In that moment, he awakens as a “traveler” — one who journeys through the dream world known as Dreamland.
Dreamland is another world, born from people’s dreams and nightmares alike. Carrying with him reality and dreams, love and friendship, and his feelings for his late mother, Terence sets out on an adventure armed with the power to control flames.
