Massive “Ghost in the Shell” Exhibition Announces First Wave of Exclusive Merchandise
The first-ever large-scale exhibition spanning all anime series of Koukaku Kidoutai (Ghost in the Shell), titled “Koukaku Kidoutai-ten Ghost and the Shell“, is set to run from January 30th to April 5th, 2026 at TOKYO NODE in Toranomon Hills, Tokyo. The first wave of an extensive 100+ item original goods lineup has now been revealed, featuring 55 different products that cross over every series.

Since its birth in 1989, Koukaku Kidoutai has shocked creators worldwide with its cutting-edge visions of cyberization, AI, and what it means to be human. As we approach the year 2029—the world of the series—the future it depicted is rapidly becoming our reality with the permeation of AI and the cloud era. The anime series by successive directors like Oshii Mamoru, Kamiyama Kenji, Kise Kazuya, and Aramaki Shinji have continually updated its core themes, always pointing to the forefront of the times.
This “Ghost and the Shell” exhibition aims to lay bare the essence of the franchise by separating the concepts of “Ghost” (spirit, consciousness) and “Shell” (body, vessel), pushing visitors to question what they feel is a “Ghost” and what can be called a “Shell” in our present day.
First Look at the Exhibition-Exclusive Goods Lineup
The original official goods to be sold at the exhibition will include over 100 items, from apparel like T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, caps, and scarves, to sundries like plush keychains, posters, and stickers.

This first wave features items created from key visuals, memorable scenes, and rare artwork from across the Koukaku Kidoutai series—including the landmark 1995 film Koukaku Kidoutai / GHOST IN THE SHELL, which celebrates its 30th anniversary. It also includes special exhibition-only designs that fuse the worldviews of the different series.

Luxurious Collaboration Items
Among the 60+ items and 25+ collaborations, 15 special collaboration items have been previewed. These include partnerships with apparel brands like GEEKS RULE, atmos x REEBOK‘s INSTAPUMP FURY94, and HATRA. Notable collabs also feature a multi-legged tank by KOTOBUKIYA, a figure of Kusanagi Motoko in her original manga colors by Good Smile Company, and the impressive Techno folding screen.

The apparel lineup comprehensively covers every work in the franchise: starting with GHOST IN THE SHELL, moving through Innocence, the Koukaku Kidoutai S.A.C. series, ARISE, SAC_2045, and even the legendary original PlayStation game GHOST IN THE SHELL from 1997, which gets its first apparel release since the game’s launch.

The apparel items pay careful attention to material quality, using fabrics worthy of the Koukaku Kidoutai brand’s long history of fashion collaborations. This collection lets you experience the franchise’s trajectory through designs that blend each series’ unique philosophy, visuals, and atmosphere with the timeless trend of “anime meets fashion.”
Sundries and Collectibles
The sundries line includes standout items like plush keychains of the iconic Laughing Man and black Tachikoma, an original shopping bag featuring the exhibition’s key visual, and acrylic stands spotlighting Kusanagi Motoko from each series.
