For the uninitiated, ‘Fate/strange Fake’ is a light novel series written by Narita Ryougo—the mastermind behind hits like ‘Baccano!’ and ‘Durarara!!’—and published under the Dengeki Bunko imprint since 2015. It throws the traditional “Holy Grail War” formula into a blender by setting the action in the United States for the first time in the franchise’s history. The story follows a massive, frenzied battle royale where numerous mages (Masters) and heroic spirits (Servants) clash in a deadly and spectacular struggle.
