For those new to the world of Psyren, the series originates from a manga by Toshiaki Iwashiro that became a fan favorite during its run in Weekly Shounen Jump from December 2007 to November 2010. Shueisha compiled the story into 16 volumes, with the final one releasing in March 2011.

The series also expanded beyond the manga. A side story light novel, written by SOW with illustrations by Iwashiro, was published under Shueisha’s Jump J Books label between September 2010 and March 2011.

For English-speaking audiences, VIZ Media licensed and released the entire manga series, with the final volume hitting shelves in May 2014. The announcement of an anime adaptation has been a long-awaited dream for its international fanbase.
