“Matenrou” and “Bad Ass Temple” Heat Up the Stage at “Hypmic” Division Jam Tour! A Trial for Kuukyaku? An Incident Erupts at Hifumi’s Host Club…? [Report]

The Hypnosis Mic Stage is Heating Up with the “Division Jam Tour”!

The stage adaptation of the music-original character rap project, Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-, titled Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage “Division Jam Tour”, is currently in full swing. From January 21st to 23rd, the Tokyo performances for <vol.2> were held at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO).

The “Division Jam Tour” is a nationwide live tour. Following <vol.1> in November/December 2025, this <vol.2> features Shinjyuku Division “Matenrou”, Nagoya Division “Bad Ass Temple”, the “Ito no Kai”, Takarai Hiori, “Doutonbori Divers”, and the Division Dance Battle unit “D.D.B”. They’ve been racing across three locations in Japan: Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Tokyo.

A Non-Stop Wave of Hype and New Tunes

The show kicked off with the new song “Got to Jam -vol.2-“, the theme song for the tour. Characters took to the stage one after another, building up to a full ensemble performance that had the audience hyped from the very start, seamlessly flowing into the second song, “Kaleido”—a new track from “Matenrou”. Just as the venue was enveloped in Shinjyuku’s mood, “Bad Ass Temple” shifted the atmosphere completely with their performance of “Bad Ass Temple Run & Go”.

This was followed by familiar tunes like “Ito no Kai Fukkatsu” (Ito no Kai Revival) from the “Ito no Kai” and “In’you” (Yin-Yang) performed by the “Ito no Kai” and “Doutonbori Divers”, steadily drawing everyone deeper into the world of Hyppestage.
Then, solo new songs were unveiled: Takarai Hiori’s “Akuma ga Kitarite” (The Devil Arrives) and Amagiri Goku’s “Smooth Whiskey”. The brief moment for quiet appreciation was short-lived, as a series of personality-packed solo tracks followed: Kannonzaka Doppo’s “Albireo”, Yatsumado Jyushi’s “14th Destination”, and Izanami Iori’s “It’s Party Time”.

Comedy Skits and More Music

After the intense first half, the show transitioned into a comedy skit featuring “Bad Ass Temple” and “Doutonbori Divers”. The plot involved the “Doutonbori Divers” visiting Goku’s law office for job experience… Goku was initially furious about his surname “Amagiri” being misread, but upon learning the next job experience was at Jakurai’s hospital, he reluctantly agreed.
While they were practicing a mock trial, Kuukyo and Jyushi showed up, and Kuukyo ended up playing the “defendant” role….

Just as the fast-paced story had the audience in stitches, the group song “Ole ole ole!!” began, ushering in another wave of new songs.
Harae Kuukyo’s “Keep ya head Up”, Jinguuji Jakurai’s “Heiwa no Kane” (Bell of Peace), “Bad Ass Temple’s” “Teki wa Ware Nari” (The Enemy is Me), “Matenrou’s” “Nightride”. The high-energy vibe of Nagoya, the soulful sounds of Shinjyuku—the audience got to enjoy the best of both divisions in alternation, with purple and grey penlights glittering brilliantly throughout the venue.

The second comedy skit featured “Matenrou” along with “Ito no Kai” members Ookumo Dantyō and Takarai Hiori. The setting was Shinjyuku, at the host club where Iori works. Into this world steps Mato, who has started working there as a new recruit. Iori treats even the newcomer with his usual flippant attitude. As Haizaki Mato’s irritation builds at this casual demeanor, he’s thrown off balance by Iori’s sudden, serious transformation when he puts on his jacket. To make matters more chaotic, Jakurai and Doppo arrive, along with a suspicious customer, Dantyō… and a stream of unique patrons begins to visit….

There was no time to linger in the afterglow of the skit’s laughter, as the show charged on with popular stage songs: “BRAWL for INSIST”, “Keritsukeru Skill”, “Rhyme of Revolt”, and “The Tribe of BATTLE EMCEEZ”.

After the encore, a performance by the Division Dance Battle unit “D.D.B” served as an interlude, followed by a non-stop barrage of songs all the way to “Akumu” (Nightmare), “School Rap”, “Kōfuku Sekai Nenshi” (Happy World Sticky Threads), “Just like this”, “Running wolf”, and finally a reprise of “Got to Jam -vol.2-“.
