What’s “Mayonaka Heart Tune” All About?
“Mayonaka Heart Tune” is a “voice-youth” romantic comedy (or “seishun” love comedy) based on the manga by Igarashi Masakuni, serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. It follows the heroines of the broadcasting club, each striving for dreams tied to “voice”—be it as a singer, voice actress, VTuber, or announcer—and the protagonist who works hard to make their dreams come true.
The story centers on Yamabuki Arisu, the heir to a conglomerate who aims for perfection in everything. To achieve 100% perfection, he’s searching for the “remaining 1%”: the host of the radio show Mayonaka Heart Tune, known as “Apollo,” who vanished without a word when Arisu was in middle school. Fast forward to spring of his second year in high school, Arisu transfers to Kaede Bayashi High School, now co-ed, hoping to find Apollo through the familiar “voice.” He stumbles upon the broadcasting club, where four girls, each with traces of Apollo and dreams tied to voice-related careers, await. Thus, Arisu vows to fulfill all their voice dreams to honor his past promise with Apollo.

Amatsuki Shinobu, a member of the broadcasting club and also the student council vice-president, is always swamped with various requests. While she’s trusted for her steadfast demeanor, Shinobu has a personality that can’t say no when relied upon.
Because of this, she often ends up taking on more work than others in her role as vice-president.
With the first sports festival since the school became co-ed approaching, Shinobu finds herself burdened with work that lasts until night. Meanwhile, preparations for the sports festival are also starting in the broadcasting club.
The broadcasting club members worry if she’s taking on too much, but Shinobu reassures them with a smile.
Arisu, concerned, takes her to a secluded spot—what unfolds next?
