From the iconic series Choujikuu Yousai Macross (also known as The Super Dimension Fortress Macross), a figure of the mecha piloted by the ace Roy Focker has been revived! The “VF-1S Valkyrie Roy Focker Special Revival Ver.” is joining the high-end action figure line, DX Chougokin. It’s scheduled for release in August 2026 and is now available for pre-order.

Choujikuu Yousai Macross is the groundbreaking first series of the Macross franchise that began airing in 1982. It follows the story of civilian pilot Hikaru Ichijou as he gets caught up in a war against the giant alien Zentradi. The narrative famously weaves together epic mecha battles, the transformative power of song, and a classic love triangle.

Details of the DX Chougokin Release

This “DX Chougokin VF-1S Valkyrie Roy Focker Special Revival Ver.” brings the iconic Valkyrie of Skull Squadron leader Roy Focker to life with its full three-stage transformation and a wealth of action features.

This is a revival of the item originally released in 2020, but now it includes an added bonus: round-fingered hand parts that allow you to recreate its appearance from the TV anime series. It also comes with the angular-fingered hand parts from the movie version (three types for each hand), enabling poses like the two-handed grip on the gun pod.

The set includes display stands that can showcase the mecha in all three modes—Fighter, Gerwalk, and Battroid—along with a pilot figure of Roy Focker himself. Attention to detail is impressive, with features like individually movable head lasers (all four of them!) and the iconic Skull Squadron emblem printed on the tail fins. The price is set at 26,400 yen (including tax).
