Seven-Eleven’s Purr-fect “Nyan-ko Discovery!” Campaign for Cat Day
Get ready, cat lovers! For Cat Day on February 22nd, Seven-Eleven is launching a delightful “Nyan-ko Discovery!” campaign. A lineup of six adorable cat-themed products—bread, sweets, and ice cream—will start hitting shelves nationwide from February 16, 2026. These treats are inspired by everything feline, from calico patterns and soft paw pads to playful tails.

The “Neconomy” Boom and Our Feline Friends
The so-called “neconomy”—the economic ripple effect sparked by our love for cats—has moved beyond a passing trend to establish a rock-solid economic sphere. As lifestyles change and cats are cherished as beloved companions, the heat in related markets grows year by year. The influence has truly exploded, especially with the spread on SNS and the now-ingrained consumer behavior of treating cats as one’s “oshi” (favorite). It’s no longer just a pet boom; it’s a powerful engine driving modern consumption.
In anime and manga, popular cat or cat-inspired characters are countless. Think Doraemon from Doraemon, Nyanko-sensei from Natsume Yuujinchou (also known as Natsume’s Book of Friends), and Neko-musume from Gegege no Kitarou. More recently, the short anime mofusand, featuring the cute and surreal kitties illustrated by popular SNS artist Juno—starting with “Same-nyan” in a shark costume—has been grabbing attention since January.
Seven-Eleven’s “Nyan-ko Discovery!” campaign rides this huge wave of enthusiasm. It features six types of bread, sweets, and ice cream, all modeled after the adorable parts of a cat.

Meet the Delicious Lineup
Let’s dig into the details! The “Calico Cat Mochi Mochi Crepe” uses three types of cream to mimic a calico cat pattern, making for a visually sweet experience. The “Nyan Parfait” is topped with pink, paw pad-inspired dango and a milk-an whip daifuku, offering a feast for both eyes and taste buds. As for the “Nyama Dora Milk Caramel,” it features a fluffy dorayaki batter cut out in an adorable cat shape.

The “Bread Like a Cat’s Tail” stands out with its slender form, stripe pattern, and chocolate coating all the way to the tip—just like a real cat’s tail. Then there’s the “Neko mo Me ga Nyai Tsunya Pan,” a savory bread with a uniquely named twist (pun intended!) that brings to mind a cat’s round eyes. It uses tuna, a feline favorite, as its main ingredient.

But wait, there’s more! The “Seven Premium White Chocolate Lover’s Shirokuma” ice cream is also getting a special Cat Day makeover, appearing in a limited edition design inspired by cute paw pads. With so many photogenic, “instagrammable” items in the lineup, you’ll definitely want to snap a pic before taking a bite. Why not find your new favorite treat?
Bonus Campaign for App Users
On top of that, Seven-Eleven app members have an extra reason to celebrate. From February 16 to 22, a seven-day limited “Sanrio Characters Nyan-Nyan Campaign” will be held. You can enter a lottery to win original goods featuring five Sanrio characters, starting with Charmy Kitty. Be sure to check out this campaign along with the “Nyan-ko Discovery!” offerings.
