‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto’ and JR Tokai’s ‘Oshi Tabi’ collaboration project ‘Kusuriya no Futari Tabi: Osaka Chapter’ has new information. From May 14, 2026 (Thursday), new content such as the second-round bonuses and the long-awaited ‘original novel cafe’ will begin.
Natsu Hyuuga’s ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto’ (published by Hero Bunko) is a palace mystery entertainment set in the imperial court, where a young girl named Maomao works as a poison taster and solves difficult cases while being dumped with work by the eunuch Jinshi. Two manga adaptations are also serialized in Monthly Big Gangan and Monthly Sunday GX.
The first season of the TV anime aired in October 2023 for 24 episodes, and its mystery-laced story received the special award at the ‘TVer Awards 2023′. The second season aired for two consecutive cours from January 2025, and a third season and the series’ first theatrical film have been greenlit.
The collaboration with JR Tokai’s ‘Oshi Tabi’, titled ‘Kusuriya no Futari Tabi: Osaka Chapter’, is an event running from April 17, 2026 (Friday). It features special voice and reading performances that can only be heard inside Tokaido Shinkansen trains, as well as a tour of Osaka city, allowing fans to enjoy special time with Maomao and Jinshi.
Starting May 14 (Thursday), the second Shinkansen boarding bonus, a ‘set of two mini stickers’, will be distributed. The design shows Maomao and Jinshi in Western clothing enjoying a trip. By using the in-train content and obtaining a ‘boarding certificate’, you can receive them at Animate Umeda.
Also, the special reading exclusive to the train will be updated to a reading by Takeo Ootsuka (Jinshi’s voice actor) of ‘Poison Taster’ (excerpted from Volume 1, Chapter 6). It can be enjoyed for a limited time until June 18 (Thursday).
Furthermore, the long-awaited ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Original Novel Cafe’ (Tokyo) will open. Under the supervision of the original author, official recipes will appear that let you immerse yourself in the world of the story, such as the soup Maomao tasted for poison at the garden party and the ice treat Maomao made with ice and salt.
As part of the ‘Oshi Tabi’ linked project, users of the Shinkansen in-train exclusive content will receive a limited novelty item. Those who participate in the Tokaido Shinkansen in-train content and dine at the cafe will get an ‘original ticket-style card’.
Additionally, the ‘Oshi Tabi’ collaboration costumes are being made into plushies for the first time. A campaign will offer a ‘Kusuriya no Futari Tabi: Osaka Chapter Plushie Set (Maomao & Jinshi)’ by lottery to 15 winners among Shinkansen in-train content users.
The second bonus ‘mini sticker set of 2’ and the ‘special reading’ by Takeo Ootsuka are available for a limited time until June 18 (Thursday). The ‘Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Original Novel Cafe’ is scheduled to open in Osaka on May 28 (Thursday).
