Shogakukan’s manga magazine Monthly Sunday GX has announced that starting with the June 2026 issue (released today, May 19), a “Dual Acrylic Stand” bonus for “The Apothecary Diaries ~ Maomao’s Imperial Palace Puzzle Notebook ~” will be attached for four consecutive issues from June to September. The first installment in the June issue features Maomao design.
“The Apothecary Diaries” is a hugely popular imperial palace mystery entertainment with cumulative series sales exceeding 45 million copies, depicting the story of the poison-tasting girl Maomao solving various difficult cases in the imperial palace. Not only Maomao’s refreshing heroine nature, but also the full-fledged mysteries and human drama spun in an exotic worldview have gained widespread sympathy and are loved by people of all ages. On October 22, 2025, it celebrated the second anniversary of its broadcast, and the production of the third TV anime season and the first movie in the series was announced. The third TV anime season is scheduled to air in two split cours starting October 2026, and the movie is set for release in December of the same year. “The Apothecary Diaries ~ Maomao’s Imperial Palace Puzzle Notebook ~” is the manga adaptation drawn by Sanroku Kurata, serialized in Monthly Sunday GX.
