Goods featuring newly drawn illustrations from the TV anime Natsume Yuujinchou are making a comeback. The popular “Cat ver.” and “Travel ver.” themed merchandise, originally released in the past, has returned with fresh designs and some completely new items. They are available now at the online store “eeo Store online” and the physical eeo Store Ikebukuro main store.
Based on the manga by Yuki Midorikawa, serialized in Hakusensha’s LaLa, Natsume Yuujinchou has sold over 18 million copies in Japan. The story follows Takashi Natsume, a boy who has been able to see youkai since childhood, as he inherits his grandmother Reiko’s “Book of Friends” and, together with his self-proclaimed bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, returns names to the youkai bound within it. The TV anime first aired in July 2008, with the seventh season, Natsume Yuujinchou Shichi, broadcast from October to December 2024. The franchise also includes the OVA Itsuka Yuki no Hi ni (2014), the theatrical film Gekijouban Natsume Yuujinchou: Utsusemi ni Musubu (2018), and the new anime Natsume Yuujinchou: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha (limited release in January 2021).
The re-released goods feature newly drawn illustrations in two themes: “Cat ver.” and “Travel ver.” Alongside the returning designs, there are also new design items and completely new products.
