Sanrio Puroland — home to Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and many more beloved characters — will host a limited-time Tanabata event, Puro Wish Matsuri, from June 5, 2026. The experience-based event invites guests to make wishes in a dreamy, water-blue atmosphere inspired by the starry night of Tanabata. The theme centers on “wishes,” “dreams,” and a touch of ephemeral beauty, creating what the park describes as a “wishcore” world.

Special Illumination: “Wishing star illumination”
A magical Milky Way will stretch across the Tree of Wisdom, and Hello Kitty will join guests in a 10-minute illumination show. When everyone’s wishes reach Kitty’s wand, the entire Puro Village lights up in a romantic spectacle.

Photo Spots & Attraction Decorations
Throughout the park, photo spots inspired by stars and the Milky Way will appear. For 2026, the event embraces the trending “wishcore” aesthetic, offering a fresh way to enjoy Tanabata wishes. On the 3F entrance hall, a dedicated photo spot called “Puro Wish Matsuri Photo Spot” will let guests make wishes. The attraction Kiki & Lala Twinkling Studio will also receive a special Tanabata-themed makeover.

Projection Mapping, Limited Sweets, and a One-Night Live
At Lady Kitty House, a projection mapping experience will feature voice appearances by members of the idol group ≒JOY (Nearly Equal Joy), offering content exclusive to this event. A limited-time dessert inspired by ≒JOY’s 3rd single “Blue Hawaii Lemon” will also be available: a refreshing parfait with Seto Inland Sea lemon jelly and sparkling blue pineapple jelly. On June 26, a one-night-only live concert, ≒JOY in Puro Wish Matsuri ~Kimi no Negai ni, Saikou no JOY wo!~ Live, will be held.

Special Greetings with Characters in Tanabata Costumes
A paid, reservation-required special greeting, Puro Wish Matsuri Special Greeting, will feature characters wearing matching light-blue ribbons and Tanabata-inspired outfits. Participating characters include: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, My Sweet Piano, Cinnamoroll, Marron Cream, Kogimyun, Usahana, and Little Twin Stars (Kiki & Lala).
