Summer 2026 Anime ‘Uchi no Otoutodomo ga Sumimasen’ Reveals Second PV, Opening and Ending Themes, Additional Cast

The TV anime adaptation of Akira Ozaki’s manga Uchi no Otoutodomo ga Sumimasen will begin airing on July 3, 2026, as a continuous two-cour series spanning 24 episodes. The second promotional video has been released, introducing the opening and ending theme songs, along with new cast additions.

The original manga, serialized in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret, has exceeded 3 million copies in cumulative circulation. It is a sweet home romantic comedy that follows high school girl Ito, who becomes the new eldest daughter after her mother’s remarriage, and her four unique younger brothers: Gen, Raku, Shuu, and Rui.

The newly released second PV offers a glimpse into the story, and also features parts of the opening theme “Aikotoba” by DISH// and the ending theme “Clover” by Reira Shio. Both artists have contributed video messages and written comments.

Additional cast members have been announced: Daisuke Ono voices Isao Narita (the father), and Aya Endo voices Saho Narita (the mother). Ono remarked, “I’ve worked with director Hitomi Nanba on other projects, so I’m happy to take on the role of Isao-san. For some reason, Aya Endo and I often play married couples or partners in Western film dubbing, so I felt a sense of destiny.” Endo added, “Readers of the original manga will understand that this story makes you grin from ear to ear. I was grinning even during recording. I can’t wait to see the finished product as a viewer!”

On May 24, an advance screening event was held with main cast members Naomi Oozora, Toshiki Masuda, Taku Yashiro, Kensho Ono, and Momoka Terasawa. The event featured the second PV, theme song reveals, and the new casting announcements.

DISH// (Takumi Kitamura)

“When we were offered the tie-up, I was surprised because I didn’t expect a band like us to be approached. I thought it would bring something new, and I’m excited to meet that expectation. For an opening, I hope the song opens the story like a seal being broken, and also makes you think about the future lives of Ito and everyone else. I created it with the wish that the common language and passwords born from becoming a family will be filled with love.”

Reira Shio

“When I heard about the tie-up, I felt a strong connection because I have many personal feelings about family. I was able to weave words that align with the original while connecting with myself. I think connections, though seemingly ordinary, are miracles and the closest form of happiness. Even if our perspectives differ, I hope we can find the same happiness together—this work is like a four-leaf clover. Please come find happiness here.”

Isao Narita (CV: Daisuke Ono)

“I’ve worked with director Hitomi Nanba on other projects, so I’m happy to take on the role of Isao-san. For some reason, Aya Endo and I often play married couples or partners in Western film dubbing, so I felt a sense of destiny. The recording environment was very warm, with the staff and cast all sharing the same warmth. I hope that gentle temperature comes through in the anime.”

Saho Narita (CV: Aya Endo)

“I am playing Ito’s mother, Saho Narita. Readers of the original manga will know that this story makes you grin from ear to ear. I was grinning even during recording. I was thrilled every time, so I wonder what I’ll be like when I see the finished work! I’m really looking forward to it as a viewer too. Every time I came to the studio, I felt happy seeing the characters and the cast—I met a wonderful family! Please look forward to the broadcast.”
