The TV anime “Isshiki-san wa Koi wo Shiritai.” is set to premiere in January 2027. A teaser PV has been released, offering the first look at anime footage and introducing the voices of the two main characters.
The story follows Isshiki Rinna, a 17-year-old prodigy who graduated top of her university class and now serves as a police inspector in the “Special Investigation Headquarters for Modern Crime.” Known as “Steel” for her cool intellect and calm demeanor, she should have no interest in romance. Yet, when she works with the “bumbling detective” Rokutanda Meishi, she experiences unexplained palpitations and flustering moments. In an attempt to solve the mystery of these heartbeats, Meishi proposes a secret fake relationship. Thus begins a sweet romantic comedy as two love novices tackle their first case: “first love.”

Rokutanda Meishi, voiced by Umeda Shuichirou, runs the Rokutanda Detective Agency while working as a hired detective. He strongly desires to help people and is honest and sincere, but is often dismissed as bumbling by fellow detectives. Drawn to Rinna’s straightforward desire to assist others, he applies for the role of hired detective hoping to be useful to Inspector Isshiki.
