On June 12, 2026 (Friday), the theatrical release of Rinji Zouhatsu Milky☆Subway Kakuekiteisha Gekijou Iki will begin, and new scene stills from the added footage have been unveiled.

The original 12-episode short anime Ginga Tokkyu Milky☆Subway aired in July 2025 and quickly became a major sensation. Set on a runaway train called the Milky☆Subway, its sci-fi visuals blended with a nostalgic feel, natural dialogue, and clever sound design captured viewers. The official YouTube channel has surpassed an astonishing 280 million total views, and many celebrities across social media and radio have openly declared themselves fans, making it one of the most talked-about anime of 2025.
Director Kameyama Yohei spent roughly two years crafting the series almost entirely by himself. The theatrical version, Ginga Tokkyu Milky☆Subway Kakuekiteisha Gekijou Iki, was reconfigured for theaters with new scenes and has been a huge hit.

‘Rinji Zouhatsu’ Added Scene Stills
Now, the first look at the extra edition’s new footage has arrived! Stills show characters Cart, Max, and Officer Asami in a crucial moment. The scene will play as a post-credits sequence lasting about one minute, so fans are urged to stay until the very end.

Visitor Gift: New Mini Manga by Kouno Don
To commemorate the extra edition’s run, a newly drawn original mini manga by Kouno Don (creator of the comic adaptation serialized in Shounen Ace Plus) will be given away to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. This follows the earlier visitor gift from the first theatrical run.
