New hair accessories capturing the world of Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 – Snake God have arrived. The fashion brand MAYLA, known for its slogan “Your body temperature rises 2°C,” is offering these items exclusively on its official online store.
Mononoke originally spun off from the “Bakeneko” arc of the 2006 series Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, and became a full TV anime series the following year. It follows the mysterious Medicine Seller as he travels across Japan to exorcise Mononoke—spirits born from human emotions and grudges. Starting in 2024, a trilogy of theatrical films set in the Ōoku (the inner chambers of Edo Castle) began: Mononoke the Movie: The Umbrella (July 2024), Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2 – Fire Rat (March 2025), and now Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 – Snake God, which opened on May 29, depicting the final “Rite of Salvation.”
The new product from MAYLA is the “Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 – Snake God Iconic Hair Objet Majeste Kanzashi + Multi Charm.” This 2-way hair ornament can be worn as a kanzashi (traditional hairpin) or as a majestic hair piece for easy and cute hairstyling, and also doubles as a bag charm.
The “Medicine Seller” model uses gold accents for a glamorous and substantial impression. Its design incorporates the vivid kimono patterns of the Medicine Seller. By using a velour-like flocked material, the accessory conveys the opulent and eerie atmosphere of the series. Details include motifs of talismans, mirrors, and a scale.
The “Shingi” model uses antique gold for a sense of weight and mystery. The body design reflects Shingi’s own patterns and color scheme.
