At the Paradox Live Dope Show 2026 event held at Ariake Arena on May 30–31, 2026, a movie adaptation of Paradox Live THE ANIMATION was officially announced. The project first launched in November 2019, expanding through CD releases and live events into a multimedia phenomenon centered on hip-hop and character-driven storytelling. The TV anime aired in October 2023, trending frequently on X (formerly Twitter) in Japan during its broadcast.
The series is set in a near-future where a saturated hip-hop culture gave birth to the new movement of “Phantom Live.” Eight top teams, each with their own musical genre, clash in the mysterious stage battle called “Paradox Live.” The unique world-building and high-energy music have earned strong support both domestically and internationally.
Movie Details and New Teams
The newly announced film will bring back all characters from the TV series and introduce additional teams that have not appeared in the anime before. A teaser video revealed the tagline “That excitement will be brought back to video—” before transitioning from the Paradox Live logo to Paradox Live THE ANIMATION. Line art for previously seen teams—BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, Akkan Yatsura, and Buraikan—appeared, followed by the confirmation of four new teams: VISTY, AMPRULE, 1Nm8, and Gokuraku. In total, 29 characters from nine teams will appear in the movie.
The film will be produced by STUDIO GRAPH77, known for work such as Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 “Shikaku” (video production). No release date or plot details have been announced yet; further updates are expected.
4th SEASON and Cover Album Announcement
A new story arc, 4th SEASON, was also announced to begin in September 2026, accompanied by a teaser PV. The video displayed newspaper clippings with cryptic keywords like “Phantometal,” “●● (redacted) no nami, hirogaru,” and “CLUB Paradox,” building anticipation for the next chapter.
Additionally, the first cover song project for Paradox Live was revealed. Titled PROPS, the project will feature each of the nine teams covering classic songs as a tribute.
Dope Show 2026 Archive and Blu-ray/DVD
The Paradox Live Dope Show 2026 performances included 26 songs on Day 1 (May 30) and 29 songs on Day 2 (May 31), with different staging and setlists each day. The archive stream is available until June 7, 2026, at 23:59 JST. A Blu-ray & DVD release is scheduled for October 21, 2026, priced at 13,200 yen (tax included), featuring both days’ performances and a booklet.
Stage Play: Paradox Live on Stage
Two new stage play productions were announced: Paradox Live on Stage -Road to Legend- “RAGE” (October 2–11, 2026) and Paradox Live on Stage -Road to Legend- “FATE” (February 19–28, 2027). The third stage installment will for the first time include the teams VISTY, AMPRULE, 1Nm8, and Gokuraku alongside the previously featured BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, and Akkan Yatsura. New cast details and a key visual for “RAGE” have been released.
Look Book and Illustrator Art
Illustrator Keiko Sensei has drawn all 29 characters for a look book titled LOOK BOOK～Paradox Live 2026 four moods～, to be released in July. A preview illustration of Hikage Touma has already been shared.
