Netflix anime film Super Kaguya Hime! will conclude its unexpectedly long theatrical run on Thursday, June 18, 2026, after approximately four months in cinemas. To mark the occasion, a special “Last Fan Service!” Graduation Memorial Stage Greeting will be held on Friday, June 19 at two venues.
The stage greeting will feature Kaguya voice actress Natsuyoshi Yūko, Tsukimi Yachiyo voice actress Hayami Saori, and director Yamashita Seigō. The event will take place at Cinecittà (before the 17:30 screening) and at Cinema City (after the 18:20 screening). Tickets are priced at 2,500 yen and will go on sale via each theater’s website from 21:00 on June 5. The Cinema City session will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of the film.
Director Yamashita, known for his striking opening animations on hits such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Urusei Yatsura, made his feature-length directorial debut with this original work. He commented: “When the one-week limited screening began, I never imagined it would become such a long run. This is all thanks to the cooperation of theaters nationwide and the support of the audience. There’s only a little time left, but please continue to enjoy the story of Kaguya and her friends that can only be experienced in theaters!”
Originally released for a limited one-week run starting February 20, the film saw such overwhelming demand – achieving a surprising fifth place in the weekend box office despite being available on Netflix and showing in only 19 theaters – that its run was extended and expanded. It has now earned over 2.5 billion yen in box office revenue.
