Summer Anime ‘Kimi Ai’ Reveals OP by Riria., ED by Sorato, Main PV and July 4 Premiere

The upcoming TV anime 「きみを愛する気はない」と言った次期公爵様がなぜか溺愛してきます (abbreviated as Kimi Ai) has unveiled its main promotional video, second key visual, theme song performers, and premiere date. The series is set to begin airing on July 4, 2026.

The story follows Elsa Yukaryainen, a down-on-her-luck aristocrat’s daughter who lives cheerfully despite her poverty, and Yuriusu Roiasu, an elite yet emotionally clumsy next-generation duke. After a chance meeting driven by mutual interests, they enter a “contract marriage” on the very same day. What unfolds is a tender, heartwarming romantic comedy of “frustratingly sweet” moments (muzukyun) as the two gradually open their hearts to each other, transitioning from a transactional relationship to a genuine bond and eventually a real family.

The newly released PV opens with a lavish wedding ceremony before cutting to Yuriusu’s shocking declaration: “I will marry you, but I have absolutely no intention of loving you.” Initially, both parties maintain a detached arrangement, but Elsa’s straightforward kindness and consideration begin to shake Yuriusu’s resolve. The latter half of the video hints at the scheming of Yarmo, a classmate of Yuriusu, and shows Seraphina openly displaying jealousy toward Elsa. Alongside the central romance, political maneuvering at the royal palace and various human dramas come to the fore.

The second key visual centers on Elsa and Yuriusu, with Elsa holding a sunflower. This flower symbolizes the Sunflower Festival (Himawari Matsuri), an annual event in the kingdom of Ralto where the pair’s relationship takes a significant step forward. The sunflower also evokes the July (summer) start of the broadcast. Surrounding the main couple are characters such as Yarmo, Seraphina, and Elsa’s younger brother Hannes, who supports her. The background depicts the royal palace courtyard, conveying the aristocratic world and atmosphere of the story.

The opening theme is 「いつかちゃんと。」 (Itsuka Chanto.) performed by Riria., a gentle number that captures the feeling of cherishing a loved one and the emotional changes born from time spent together. Riria. commented: “I am very happy to be in charge of the opening theme for Kimi Ai. I wrote 「いつかちゃんと。」 with my own impression of Elsa and Yuriusu. I hope this song will resonate with the story you all imagine.”

The ending theme 最終回 (Saishuukai) by Sorato is a refreshing, hopeful track that expresses the feelings realized while spending time together and a desire to believe in a happy future. Sorato commented: “I usually sing about eternity being elusive, but after reading the original work and empathizing with Yuriusu’s twisted inner self, and being touched by Elsa’s purity, I felt I could move forward together with the story while creating ‘Saishuukai.’ I want to watch Kimi Ai with lots of muzukyun moments and look forward to the ending of the story.”

The broadcast schedule has also been announced. Kimi Ai will premiere on July 4, 2026, every Saturday at 1:30 a.m. on the TV Asahi network’s NUMAnimation slot (24 stations nationwide). It will also air on BS Asahi every Monday at 11:24 p.m.

Sorato

“This is Sorato, in charge of the ending theme. I am very pleased to be part of Kimi Ai. I have always been curious about the unwritten parts after the fairy-tale ending ‘And they lived happily ever after.’ I usually sing about eternity being elusive, but after reading the original work and empathizing with Yuriusu’s twisted inner self, and being touched by Elsa’s purity, I felt I could move forward together with the story while creating ‘Saishuukai.’ I want to watch Kimi Ai with lots of muzukyun moments and look forward to the ending of the story.”
