Puppet Sunsun Pop-Up ‘HELLO! PUPPET SUNSUN’ to Tour 12 Cities Across Japan with Exclusive Local Goods

The beloved character Puppet Sunsun is going on a nationwide tour. A temporary pop-up event under the theme “HELLO! PUPPET SUNSUN” has been announced, hitting a record 12 cities across Japan starting July 1, 2026.

Puppet Sunsun stars Sunsun, a blue, fluffy 6-year-old boy from the puppet world of Toohock. He shares his everyday adventures with best friend Nonnon and Grandpa Zonzon through videos and manga posted on social media. The adorable visuals and heartwarming clips have attracted over 3.5 million total followers, and the character has expanded to TV shorts and a regular radio program.

The pop-up will visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Miyagi, Ishikawa, Hokkaido, Osaka, Saitama, Fukuoka, Kagawa, Aichi, Hiroshima, and Okinawa. Among these, Kyoto, Ishikawa, Saitama, Kagawa, Hiroshima, and Okinawa are first-time locations for a Puppet Sunsun pop-up. Each venue will feature a key visual and interior design incorporating signboard motifs unique to each city.

For the first time ever, Puppet Sunsun is releasing location-exclusive merchandise. The “local limited items” include stickers and acrylic keychains featuring the city-specific signboard designs.

New pop art featuring original words from Sunsun and friends has also been unveiled. This pop-up marks the first time items for characters Fanfan and Tsukutsuku will be available.

The product lineup also includes plushies of Sunsun, Nonnon, and Zonzon, as well as mini pouches, can mirrors, hair clips, and more—over 90 items in total.

In addition, shoppers who spend 2,000 yen (tax included) or more during the event will receive one randomly selected trading card from a set of five designs, while supplies last.

For the Tokyo venue, advance reservations via lottery will be required for all dates. Details on reservation requirements and entry methods for each location can be found on the special “HELLO! PUPPET SUNSUN” page.
