To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the monthly manga magazine Afternoon, the “Afternoon 40th Anniversary Exhibition” will be held at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, from July 10 to July 26, 2026. The second wave of merchandise has now been unveiled.
Launched in 1986 by Kodansha, Afternoon is a monthly magazine known for its diverse genres and free expression, featuring works in SF, history, youth, daily life, fantasy, and more. It has produced many original and high-quality manga, becoming one of Japan’s leading seinen manga magazines.
This second wave of merchandise includes a wide range of exclusive items for attendees.
From Blue Period comes a “Random Mini Canvas” (6 types) priced at 990 yen each or 5,940 yen for a complete set, including an acrylic stand.
Medalist fans can pick up a beautiful “Mirror Acrylic Diorama” featuring Inori and Iruka, as well as a special “Mini Holo Acrylic Panel” (2 types) at 2,640 yen each, where holographic highlights enhance the illustration—perfect showcases of Inori and Shiba-sensei’s smiles.
Dig It offers trendy “Proof Photo–Style Stickers” (550 yen) that look like ID photos and can be stuck on smartphones or notebooks.
Moyashimon+ is represented by a “Stained-Glass Style Metal Bookmark” (1,760 yen) featuring Oryze in a translucent design.
From Aa! Megami-sama, a “Magnet Sheet” (660 yen) styled as a promotional sheet for the Goddess Help Office in the series—perfect for refrigerators.
Ichikawa Haruko has created an original postcard set for Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous), packaged in a can (3,300 yen, 15 types total). Other random goods also appear in the lineup.
