From the TV anime Nihon Sangoku (Japanese Three Kingdoms), a new collaboration brings life-size replicas of the Yamato country’s official uniform. The lineup includes jackets, shirts, buttons, and an embroidered handkerchief featuring the Yamato crest. This is the first project from Hamaru Strategy’s new brand Genchun Seifuku Honpo (Original Size Uniform Shop), and fitting events will be held in Tokyo and Osaka.
About ‘Nihon Sangoku’ – Series Overview
The original manga by Matsuki Ikka is serialized in Shogakukan’s Manga One and Ura Sunday, with over 1 million copies in print. The story is a sci-fi epic set in a near-future Japan where civilization has collapsed after nuclear war, natural disasters, and corrupt governance. The nation is divided into three warring states, and a lowly local official named Sanchū Aoki Seiki aims to reunite Japan using his vast knowledge and sharp debate skills.
The TV anime, which began airing in April 2026, is directed by Terasawa Kazuaki and produced by Studio Kafka. The cast includes Ono Kensho as Aoki Seiki, Fukuyama Jun as Asaba Yoshinori, Seto Asami as Higashimachi Kozue, Yamaji Kazuhiro as Ryuumon Mitsuhide, Nakamura Yuuchi as Kaku Yasuaki, Nagasako Takashi as Heiraki, Kimura Taiga as Fuji Sansei, Tsuda Minami as Wajima Saku, Horiuchi Kenyuu as Toi Miyakichi, Umeda Shuichiro as Nagao Bugaton, Sakino Shunsuke as Kuraya Aiki, Murase Ayumu as Heiraki Tsugu, and Han Megumi as narrator.
Life-Size Yamato Uniform Jacket
Recreating the proud military uniform of Yamato, the Life-Size Yamato Uniform Jacket uses tough fabric able to withstand fierce combat. The three-dimensional tailoring is designed to move with the wearer, and brass buttons give a dull gleam. Four versions are available, tailored to different characters: for Aoki Seiki, for Asaba Yoshinori, for Ryuumon Mitsuhide, and for Kaku Yasuaki.
Yamato Uniform Shirt (Men’s)
The Yamato Uniform Shirt (Men’s) features a distinctive sailor collar. The cuffs, collar, and button areas are made of stiffer material to maintain a crisp silhouette even during prolonged combat. The shirt comes in two sizes: M size (for Ryuumon Mitsuhide and Aoki Seiki) and L size (for Kaku Yasuaki and Asaba Yoshinori).
Buttons and Handkerchief
The brass Yamato Uniform Button (sold separately) is a practical item – the source notes that buttons are often lost in battle. The Yamato Crest Embroidered Handkerchief is a large cotton handkerchief suitable for formal wear or emergency first aid. Together with the jacket and shirt, these pieces help fans feel closer to their favorite characters’ real existence.
Fitting Events
To let fans check the material and fit, a New Recruit Uniform Fitting Event will be held in Tokyo on June 20 (Sat) 12:45–18:45 and June 21 (Sun) 11:00–17:00 at Yanaka Chashitsu Kumi, 1F, 6-4-5 Yanaka, Taito-ku, Tokyo (10-minute walk from JR Nippori Station).
