『らんま1/2』第3期ティザービジュアル
The third season of the TV anime Ranma 1/2 will begin airing nationwide on Nippon TV in October 2026, with an exclusive Netflix streaming release right after each broadcast. A second promotional video has been released, introducing new characters and giving a deeper look at the emotional and martial arts turmoil ahead.
Ranma 1/2 is a martial arts romantic comedy based on the manga by Takahashi Rumiko, who is also known for Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Kyōkai no Rinne, and MAO. The manga ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1987 issue 36 to 1996 issue 12 and remains hugely popular. This “completely new adaptation” of the series is directed by Uda Kounosuke with animation by MAPPA. Season 1 aired in October 2024, followed by Season 2 in October 2025. Season 3 was announced in March 2026.
The newly released second PV for Season 3 opens with Akane saying, “I’m sorry, Ryoga-kun…” before revealing Ryoga’s newly mastered secret technique, the “Bakusai Tenketsu.” A fierce battle between Ranma and Ryoga unfolds. Later in the video, several new characters make their debut, complete with voice samples. The PV teases the evolving relationships among Ranma, Akane, and Ryoga, as well as the love battles with rivals who pine for them. Details on the new characters and their cast will be announced at a later date.
On June 19, MAPPA held a 15th‑anniversary lineup event on their YouTube channel. For Ranma 1/2, voice actors Yamaguchi Kappei (Ranma), Hidaka Noriko (Akane), and Yamadera Kouichi (Ryoga) gathered for a special talk about the upcoming season. The archived video is now available for fans to watch.
