The TV anime adaptation of the light novel series Doumo, Suki na Hito ni Horeyaku o Irai Sareta Majo desu. (also known as Horemajo) is set to begin broadcasting in October 2026. Alongside the announcement, a teaser PV has been released, and the main cast has been revealed: Komatsu Mikako will voice the witch Rose, and Azakami Youhei will play the knight Halij.

The series, which has sold over 1 million copies across its novel and manga adaptations, follows Rose, a reclusive witch living in a lake. She harbors a secret crush on the knight Halij, but one day he asks her to brew a love potion for someone else. Heartbroken yet unable to refuse, Rose agrees, hoping to at least spend time with him until the potion is complete. The story is a bittersweet romance between an awkward shut-in witch and a earnest, caring knight.
The newly released teaser PV offers the first look at the anime’s animation, depicting the poignant love story between Rose and Halij.
Main cast comments were also provided. Komatsu Mikako said, “When I read the original work, my fingertips tingled sweetly from holding the book. I hope that thrill vividly reaches everyone who will watch.” Azakami Youhei commented, “Above all, the Rose played by Mikako-san is very adorable! I’m currently enjoying the recording sessions.”
Staff information was also unveiled. Director Kusakawa Keizou described the series as “a story of mutual unrequited love between the witch Rose and the noble Halij, revolving around the love potion.” He added, “I’m struggling day and night, experimenting with how to translate the emotional parts of the original into visuals. I hope viewers will feel excited and anxious about the fate of their love.”

To commemorate the teaser PV release, the official anime X account is running a giveaway campaign where three winners will receive a signed autograph board with messages from Komatsu Mikako and Azakami Youhei.

Additionally, from June 20, the teaser PV will be screened and flyers distributed at the “Chayamachi Oshi Festival 2026” in Osaka.

Komatsu Mikako (as Rose)

“On the day of the audition, I had a series of failures from the morning and went to the venue feeling down, thinking it was a bad day. But by the time I left, my slightly gloomy feelings had turned into a bright, post-rain mood. Touching this story, I felt as if I had been completely enchanted. When I read the original work, my fingertips tingled sweetly from holding the book. I hope that thrill vividly reaches everyone who will watch. Please look forward to it!”
Azakami Youhei (as Halij)

“Honestly, I didn’t feel much confidence at the audition stage. The atmosphere of the original work was too beautiful for someone as rough as me to be involved… But after understanding Halij’s humanity, my concerns completely cleared. Above all, the Rose played by Mikako-san is very adorable! I realized that if I simply react to that Rose as Halij, the story might come together. I’m now enjoying the recording sessions. Please look forward to it!”
Director Kusakawa Keizou

This is my first time directing a romance genre, so I’m excited to explore this unknown territory and am enjoying the production. I’m struggling day and night, experimenting with how to translate the emotional parts of the original into visuals. I hope viewers will feel excited and anxious about the fate of their love.
