Uta no Prince-sama Voice Actor Suzuki Tatsuhisa Reveals the Color Contacts He Wore for Ranmaru’s Odd Eyes at Live Event

Voice actor Suzuki Tatsuhisa, who plays Kurozaki Ranmaru in the Uta no Prince-sama franchise, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the color contact lenses he wore during the live event “Uta no Prince-sama♪ QUARTET NIGHT LIVE ENDLESS JEWELS” held in June 2026. The post quickly sparked excitement among fans.

The Uta no Prince-sama♪ Maji LOVE anime series, based on the popular game, aired four TV seasons starting in 2011, followed by theatrical films in 2019 and 2022. The latest film, Gekijouban Uta no Prince-sama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX, released in May 2025, featured QUARTET NIGHT in a full live-animation original story. The live event “QUARTET NIGHT LIVE ENDLESS JEWELS” took place on June 13–14 at GLION ARENA KOBE (Hyogo) and June 20–21 at LaLa arena TOKYO-BAY (Chiba), with all QUARTET NIGHT cast members performing.

In his X post, Suzuki revealed that he wore two types of color contacts from the “Perfect Series Cosmagia” line: PC12 “Moon Castle” and PC14 “Flower and Dancer.” Because Ranmaru has heterochromia (odd eyes), the combination was a perfect match. Suzuki commented, “These are genuinely my personal items. I hope they can be a reference for anyone interested.”

Fans responded with comments like “Thank you for telling us!”, “They look great on you, so cool!”, and “Very stylish!”. Many cosplayers also chimed in: “This is going to be popular among cosplayers,” “Perfect for layers!”, and “When I cosplayed Ranmaru, I used the exact same ones—I clenched my fist in excitement!” Others who enjoy cosplay as a hobby expressed joy at being able to match their idol’s look.

Another point of surprise was that the contacts have no prescription. Suzuki’s post noted they were “without prescription,” leading fans to exclaim, “Wait, Tatsuhisa-san, are you bare-eyed?!”, “His eyesight is too good,” and “Lucky, I’m jealous.”

Suzuki reportedly researched and purchased the contacts himself, obtaining permission to use them. Fans were moved by his dedication to the character and his willingness to share the details, with comments like “He understands our psychology…” and “Isn’t it too kind of him to tell us?”
