Monchhichi fans can soon add a wobbly new collectible to their desks, as Sekiguchi launches a capsule toy series based on the brand’s 50th anniversary illustration. The Shaky! Monchhichi Bubble Head Doll Parade will roll out to capsule vending machines across Japan from late June 2026.

First released in 1974 by Sekiguchi Co., Ltd., Monchhichi is a plush doll known for its pacifier pose and cute freckles. The combination of a soft body with vinyl (sofubi) face and hands was a novelty that sparked a massive boom, leading to exports the following year and worldwide adoration.
This new product is the latest in the Shaky! series of bubble head dolls, whose heads or bodies wobble when tapped. Priced at 500 yen (tax included) per play, the set includes five designs. They bring to life the characters from the anniversary illustration Let’s! Parade, dressed in festive parade costumes.
The lineup consists of:
- Monchhichi-kun waving a flag
- Monchhichi-chan holding a trumpet
- Chamu, a friend with a drum hanging from his neck
- Twin babies Bebichichi-kun and Bebichichi-chan
Monchhichi-kun, Monchhichi-chan, and Chamu feature wobbling bodies, while Bebichichi-kun and Bebichichi-chan have wobbling heads.
When lined up vertically and gently shaken, the figures appear to be marching in a parade, playing instruments and dancing.
Whether at the office or on a home desk, these wobbly Monchhichi figures offer a charming dose of relaxation.
