The bio-monster Biollante from the 1989 film Godzilla vs. Biollante is getting a new figure in the S.H.MonsterArts series. Dubbed the “Wakasa Bay Battle Ver.,” this action figure recreates the creature as it appeared in the climactic fight. Pre-orders open on June 25, 2026 at 16:00 JST via the Tamashii Web Store on Premium Bandai.

This large-scale figure was sculpted by Shinoda Fuyuki, who originally built the Biollante suit used during filming. The design faithfully reproduces the plant-like textures, animalistic head, and sharp fangs seen on screen. The coloring is based on the poster art, with brush-painted highlights added to simulate lighting effects. Additional paintwork gives the surface a glossy, wet look, evoking the battle scene in Wakasa Bay.

Despite its size, the figure features multiple points of articulation. The four vine-like appendages each incorporate ball joints, allowing for flexible posing that mimics the twisting, writhing movements seen in the film.
A light-up gimmick is built into the chest. A switch on the bottom of the figure lets users choose between red and orange illumination. When displayed alongside the separately sold S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (1989) ‘Godzilla vs. Biollante’ -Movie Graphic Plus-, fans can recreate various scenes from the movie.

The S.H.MonsterArts Biollante Wakasa Bay Battle Ver. is priced at 33,000 yen (tax included). Pre-orders begin June 25, 2026 at 16:00 JST on the Tamashii Web Store (Premium Bandai), with shipments scheduled for December 2026. Note that this release shares the same sculpt and gimmicks as the 2013 version, but features updated paint applications.
