The 12th and final episode of Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria Season 2 (Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2) ended with an announcement that a third season is in production. The official website also revealed an announcement promo and celebratory visual.
Produced by Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures, the first season adapting Fujino Omori and Toshi Aoi‘s action fantasy manga began airing in Summer 2024. The second season debuted on April 12. Crunchyroll simulcast both seasons with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.
Omori and Aoi began serializing the manga in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in December 2020. Kodansha published the 15th volume on April 9.
Omori began penning the Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria Grimo Acta: Hajimari no Namida (Wistoria’s Wand and Sword Grimo Acta) prequel light novel in July 2024, featuring illustrations by Yuunagi. The second volume went on sale on June 13.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in November 2021 and published the 12th volume on March 31. Yen Press licensed the prequel light novel on May 25, with the first volume planned for a December 8 release.
Synopsis
When mysterious enemies called the Celestial Hosts oppressed humanity, five exceptional mages banded together to defeat them. Fearing their return, the five most powerful mages—known as the Magia Vander—built a magical dome and tower to contain them. Ever since, each generation’s five strongest mages have been tasked with monitoring the dome from the top of the Wizard’s Tower.
Inspired by this legend, childhood friends Will Serfort and Elfaria Albis Serfort promised each other to reach the top of the Wizard’s Tower. But now, as a sixth-year student at Regarden Magic Academy, Will’s prospects look grim. While Elfaria became a Magia Vander five years ago thanks to her immense magical power, Will has no magic at all, drawing scorn from teachers and students.
However, Will possesses an exceptional physique. He can slay monsters in the labyrinth and defeat skilled magicians using only his sword and a few magical items. Determined to fulfill his promise to Elfaria, he will let nothing stand in his way.
