The hit soccer anime Blue Lock is teaming up with kimono rental service VASARA for a special summer collaboration titled “Blue Lock × Kimono Rental VASARA ~YUKATA SELECTION~.” Running from July 6 to August 31, 2026, the event offers exclusive yukata plans, limited-edition goods, and character panels at select stores across Japan.
Blue Lock is based on the manga by Kaneshiro Muneyuki (story) and Nomura Yuusuke (art), serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The story follows 300 high school strikers gathered in the “Blue Lock” project to compete for the chance to become Japan’s top striker and lead the nation to World Cup glory. The first TV anime season aired in October 2022, followed by season 2, Blue Lock VS. U-20 JAPAN, in October 2024. A live-action film is set for release on August 7, 2026, and a sequel to the TV anime series has also been announced.
For this collaboration, the “YUKATA SELECTION” features brand-new original yukata designs for six characters, each incorporating their personal favorite things as revealed in the Blue Lock Character Book EGOIST BIBLE VOL.2. The patterns are woven into the yukata fabric and obi belts.
Character Yukata Details
Isagi Yoichi wears a yukata with a jigsaw puzzle pattern. His obi features his favorite animal, the spiny lobster (which he likes for its form).
Itoshi Rin opts for a simple black fabric yukata, with an obi decorated with his favorite animal, the owl.
Nagi Seishiro‘s yukata features a prickly pear cactus pattern, inspired by the cactus he keeps in his room. His obi includes his favorite animal, the sloth.
Bachira Meguru sports an obi and a drawstring bag (shingen-bukuro) patterned with his favorite food: canned pineapple. The bright yellow design suits his energetic personality.
Chigiri Hyoma‘s yukata features catnip leaf patterns. His obi is a deep pink with his favorite animal, the black cat, and his bag is adorned with cat paw prints.
Hiori Yo wears a yukata with a snowflake pattern. His obi features his favorite animal, the sheep (because his name means “sheep,” and he feels a kinship with them).
Collaboration Plan and Bonuses
During the event, a special “Yukata Collaboration Plan” is available. Customers who use the plan will receive limited-edition bonuses: a collaboration fan, a tote bag, and an acrylic keyholder.
Pricing for the plan is 5,390 yen (tax included) for women’s yukata and 8,690 yen (tax included) for men’s yukata. Upgrades to higher-grade yukata are available at the store for an additional fee.
Original Goods
Original collaboration goods will be sold at participating VASARA stores and on the official EC site. The lineup includes acrylic stands, stickers, can badges, as well as accessories like scrunchies and hair elastics. EC sales begin on July 6 at 12:00 JST. Note that goods can only be purchased by customers using the collaboration plan at stores; walk-in purchases of goods alone are not permitted.
Photo Campaign
Customers who use the collaboration plan and take a photo of themselves in yukata or with the goods can post it on X (formerly Twitter) with the hashtag #ブルーロック浴衣セレクション. Showing the post to staff on the same day will earn them a special collaboration postcard.
Character Panels
Life-size character panels of the six characters in their yukata will be displayed at select VASARA stores, allowing fans to take commemorative photos. The panels feature Isagi, Itoshi Rin, Nagi, Bachira, Chigiri, and Hiori, with different character lineups at each location.
Limited Women’s Yukata Set
To celebrate VASARA’s 10th anniversary, a special women’s yukata 4-piece set (yukata, obi, obidome, and hair ornament) inspired by the character yukata designs is being produced in a limited run of 50 sets. This exclusive item is only available through this collaboration.
