The TV anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto‘s second season is currently airing every Friday at 23:00 JST on Nippon Television’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” block across Japan. This time, the June visual featuring “Hydrangeas × Maomao and Jinshi” has been unveiled as part of the project titled “Maomao, Jinshi, and the Four Seasons,” which delivers a new visual each month on the 22nd (dubbed “Maomao Day”) with a seasonal plant theme. This marks the final visual for this project.

The 12th installment of the “Maomao, Jinshi, and the Four Seasons” visual project, released this time for June, is themed around hydrangeas glistening with raindrops. It depicts Maomao eagerly trying to catch a snail leisurely strolling on a hydrangea after the rain, while Jinshi leans in to watch her. With their sparkling smiles that could seemingly blow away the gloomy feeling of the rainy season, this visual is truly radiant.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is a palace mystery entertainment series based on the light novel by Hyuuga Natsu, serialized under “Hero Bunko” by Imaginica Infos, with manga adaptations running in “Big Gangan” and “Sunday GX.” The series has surpassed a cumulative total of 40 million copies sold. Set in a fictional medieval East Asian-inspired world, it follows Maomao, a young girl working as a poison taster, as she solves various difficult cases occurring within the palace.

The TV anime’s second season, which began airing in January 2025, has garnered significant attention, consistently ranking high on various streaming platforms. The second cour (part) started in April. Furthermore, the first-ever “TV Anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Exhibition” is currently touring, and a collaboration event is planned for Universal Studios Japan this summer, indicating the series’ surging popularity.
