
The popular light novel series Majo to Ryōken (The Witch and the Hound) is officially getting a TV anime adaptation, it has been announced.

The story is set in the small country of Campus Fellow, known for its farms and forges. The people live poor but happy lives. However, the flames of invasion are approaching. The kingdom of Amelia, a land of conflict and magic, under Queen Amelia’s command, monopolizes many mages and continues to expand its territory with supernatural power. If things continue, Campus Fellow will be destroyed. So the lord, Bad Grace, comes up with a desperate plan: gather the vicious witches scattered across the continent to oppose the kingdom of Amelia.
At the same time, news arrives that the “Mirror Witch” has been captured in the neighboring knight country of Löwe. The witch, who had seduced the king of Löwe and tried to become queen, was exposed on her wedding day and massacred the attendees.

Lord Bad sets out to Löwe with his attendants to take custody of the Mirror Witch. Among the group is Roro, known as the “Black Dog,” a boy raised as an assassin of Campus Fellow, trained in all kinds of killing techniques. A grand and vicious dark fantasy no one has ever seen begins.
The teaser PV released today features the first look at an action scene between the Mirror Witch Teresalisa, who adorns the cover of the first novel volume, and the protagonist Roro. The acrobatic imagery with sparks flying hints at the intensity of the story to come.
The staff includes director Tsujimoto Takanori, who has worked on the live-action Ultraman series and the anime film Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-, active across genres. Character designer is Saitō Kengo from Yostar Pictures, who has supported many popular works. A lineup of luxurious creators has gathered.

Fans can look forward to seeing how the beautiful characters by popular illustrator LAM, who draws the original illustrations, will come to life in animation.

Furthermore, the original author themselves are participating in the scenario composition. While cherishing the grand world view of the original, dynamic direction unique to video is added. With the tag team of top runners in the video industry and the original author, attention is focused on what kind of surprises and emotions this story will bring.
