Webzen Japan is currently developing an RPG called 『TERBIS』, aiming for an official release as a free-to-play game. Players take on the role of a young person who has been reincarnated in another world. Soon after arriving, they meet the knight Leo, the priestess Cecilia, the genius mage Dorothy, and the merchant Aurelia. Together with them, the player embarks on a journey to save their world, “Terbis”.
This game held a closed beta test from June 10th to June 16th, 2025. Anime! Anime! joined the ranks of the general participants to experience the story and enjoy almost every element the game had to offer, including character 育成 (development/training), various battle contents, and 召喚 (summoning, or ‘gacha’ as it’s commonly known).
Among these, summoning was one of the elements I was most curious about from the start. What kind of characters would I encounter in my very first summon? What kind of charming individuals were there among the characters? In this article, I’d like to shine a spotlight on the many original characters unique to this title and also share the results of my personal gacha challenge, limited to 8 pulls, that I just had to try.
※Please note that this playthrough was conducted using the closed beta test version, and specifications may differ at the time of the official service launch.
◆ What Kind of Game is 『TERBIS』?
This title tells a grand story about a young kyudo (Japanese archery) practitioner who is unexpectedly reincarnated in another world and embarks on a journey with his companions to find the “Four Great Luce” to save the world of “Terbis”. The game system is simple and straightforward. You strengthen characters, tackle various battle contents, fill up the character encyclopedia, and more. Each battle is designed to finish within one minute, allowing you to enjoy the story and character development quickly and at a good tempo. The full auto-battle option is also a convenient and welcome feature.
Now, among the keywords that appear in this game, one particularly important one is “Luce”. These are manifestations of the will of the gods, energy bodies known as sources of miracles. They possess attributes like wind and earth and are revered existences that bestow great blessings, contributing even to the development of cities.
Players become “Manifestors,” individuals who can realize weapons and exert power through imagination. They must search for the “Four Great Luce,” which are particularly significant, and make their power their own.

Upon appearing in “Terbis”, the player immediately encounters a battle and meets the knight Leo, the priestess Cecilia, and the genius mage Dorothy, who were being attacked by demon beasts. Together, they head to the nearby “Free City Ru”. Originally, Leo, Cecilia, and Dorothy were acting separately for their own purposes, but the appearance of monsters led them to temporarily cooperate. Afterward, they welcome Aurelia, a young merchant and friend of Dorothy, into their party, and the five begin their journey to search for the “Luce”.
Since this is still early in the game, it’s unclear what kind of story will unfold from here, but the main characters Leo, Cecilia, Dorothy, and Aurelia are already showing off their personalities, making their future activities something to look forward to. After all, Leo is a serious knight of the Deus Empire. He happened to be staying in the Free City Ru when he heard news of monster appearances and rushed to the scene. There, he found Cecilia and Dorothy being attacked by demon beasts and shielded them. He’s a fine young man. It seems he is searching for his brother’s whereabouts, conducting his search secretly, which might lead to further complications later.

Cecilia is a priestess who received an oracle saying, “Save this world with a hero from another world.” She meets the player during her journey and travels with him to discern if he is that hero. She is still quite mysterious, but in her side story, “Bond Story”, it’s revealed that she has a poor sense of direction, suggesting we might get to see more cute sides of Cecilia that aren’t just her serious demeanor.

The great mage Dorothy is a young researcher at Orbis Academy. She was researching Luce but became interested in the player, a “Manifestor,” and decided to accompany him on his journey. Aurelia, who joins the party through her introduction, is her best friend. Even now that Aurelia has become the successor to the Bond Trading Company, one of the largest on the continent, they still playfully tease each other just like they did in their student days. There’s a delightful moe moment early on when Dorothy, who normally doesn’t praise Aurelia, compliments her, and Aurelia becomes all flustered and dere dere from happiness.

◆ Surprisingly Addictive! The “Lobby Customization” Feature
One feature that I immediately became hooked on in this game was the “Lobby Customization” function. This feature allows players to freely customize the lobby screen, which is what you see most often, by placing the characters you’ve collected through summoning (gacha) however you like.
And it’s not just one character, but two, or even three! Furthermore, each character can be scaled up or down. You can also freely arrange backgrounds and stamps, so you can admire your favorite characters in your own unique lobby.

Now, about the characters to place in the lobby – the real thrill of a social game is the gacha! So, I immediately used my tickets and tried several pulls.
The initial summon is a special version that allows you to redo it until you are satisfied. However, for me, I value the connection with the characters I meet, so I decided to go for a one-shot pull without retrying. Whoever comes, you are most welcome! I resolved to cherish the characters who came to me.
The result was a great harvest: two SSR characters, the highest rarity level at this stage! One of them, Hera-san, is a brown-skinned beauty characterized by her muscles. She looks strong and seems like she could be an immediate asset. The other, Rinrin-san, is the weakest at R rarity, but her catchphrase “Laid-back Panda” makes her an adorable panda girl. While I might struggle to find a use for her in the early game, her adorable appearance instantly made her my favorite from the first summon. Naturally, I used the Lobby Customization feature mentioned earlier to place these two and got really excited, saying “Wow!”

After that, I used free gacha tickets and decided to investigate, “What other characters are there?”. To my surprise, there’s a feature that lets you check skills even for characters you haven’t obtained yet! Being able to “try out” characters in terms of both combat effectiveness and visuals is a thoughtful point. And it was there that I discovered a character that made me think, “I want this one!”.
That character was the idol character, Mary-san. Of course, she’s an SSR and a “officially recommended” character featured on the official website. Well, then I just have to pull her! …So, I decided to challenge the gacha using all the stones I had saved up. I only had 8 chances left (80 pulls).

…Well, about that gacha challenge, the result was disappointing! It’s true what they say about the “desire sensor”. However, SSRs appeared quite frequently, so based on my feeling, the pull rate didn’t seem bad at all.
Now, below are the companions who joined me during my 8 gacha challenge pulls. The girls are cute, but I also got some cool hero-like male characters, which feels nice.

Although I wasn’t able to welcome Mary-san during my gacha challenge, which was a bit of a letdown, I secured a decent number of SSR characters, putting me in a strong position regarding combat power. Since even R-rarity characters can apparently be trained to the highest level, I’m looking forward to the day my Rinrin-san gets her chance to shine.
With its characters featuring beautiful illustrations and the enjoyable gacha element, this game seems to offer plenty of content to keep players engaged, including story, battles, and content for user interaction. I’m eagerly awaiting information regarding the official release.
