Summer anime Reiwa no Dara-san has released a synopsis and advance scene cuts for its second episode, titled “First School Visit” (第二怪「初めての学校訪問」), which begins airing on July 9, 2026 (Thursday).

The anime is based on the manga by Tomotsuka Haruomi, serialized in Kadokomi and Nico Nico Manga, offering a fresh take on occult comedy for the Reiwa era. Directed by Suzuki Rito, the animation is produced by Asahi Production. The cast includes Tamura Mutsumi as Dara-san, Tsuda Minami as Mimasaki Hinata, Terasawa Momoka as Mimasaki Kaoru, Koga Aoi as Hasegawa Shu, Sugita Tomokazu as Fudeki Naomichi, Aizawa Mai as Isoko Miwa, Hayami Saori as Ane Miko, Ōtsuka Hōchū as Orochi, and Terasoma Masaki as narrator.
The story follows Hinata and Kaoru, born into the Mimasaki family that has managed a mountain containing a forbidden “taboo land” for generations. One stormy night, they venture into the prohibited area and encounter the massive serpentine curse god Yamatagimadara, whom they immediately befriend and nickname “Dara-san.” The fearless siblings drag the reluctant deity into their daily lives, turning the supernatural into a straight man for their antics.
Episode 2 Synopsis
Dara-san watches over Hinata and Kaoru’s daily life.
Using the power of the “Water Mirror,” he peeks into Kaoru’s elementary school and sees homeroom teacher Fudeki acting suspiciously, calling Kaoru to the student guidance room.
The room has its curtains drawn shut, and Dara-san becomes wary that Kaoru might be in danger.
Episode 2 of Reiwa no Dara-san airs on July 9 (Thursday) on TOKYO MX and other channels.

The series premiered on July 2, 2026, on TOKYO MX (22:30), Kantele (25:45), BS Nittele (23:00), and AT-X (21:30, with repeats). Streaming is available on d Anime Store and ABEMA from July 2 at 22:00, with other services following.
