New preview images and a synopsis have been released for the second episode of the summer 2026 anime Saijo no Osewa: Takane no Hana darake na Meimonkou de, Gakuin Ichi no Ojousama (Seikatsu Nouryoku Kakumou) o Kage nagara Osewa suru Koto ni Narimashita (commonly shortened to Saijo no Osewa). Episode 2, titled “Osewa-gakari Daiichinichi” (Caregiver, First Day), is set to air on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
The series is a romantic comedy based on the light novel by Sakaisi Yusaku, published under HJ Bunko (Hobby Japan) and also serialized as a manga on Comic Fire. Directed by Morishita Shuusei at animation studio Brain’s Base, the story follows Tomonari Iizuki (voiced by Uemura Yuuto), an ordinary high school boy who is suddenly appointed as the personal caretaker of Konohana Hinako (voiced by Kohara Konomi), the seemingly perfect daughter of Japan’s wealthiest family. In reality, Hinako cannot even dress herself and is a hopelessly lazy girl. Iizuki must protect her image while secretly taking care of her, leading to a sweet master-servant romance.
The cast also includes Ten’nouji Birei (voiced by Oonishi Saori), Toshima Naruka (voiced by Tsuchiya Rio), Tsurumi Shizune (voiced by Koshimizu Ami), Taishou Katsuya (voiced by Kumagai Kentarou), Asahi Karen (voiced by Maeda Ami), and Konohana Kagen (voiced by Koyasu Takehito).
Episode 2 Synopsis: “Osewa-gakari Daiichinichi”
Iizuki transfers into Kikou Academy, keeping his role as Hinako’s caretaker a secret. He is bewildered by the school full of wealthy heirs and heiresses. Meanwhile, Hinako maintains her perfect lady persona in public, but during their private lunch breaks, she reverts to her true lazy self and clings to Iizuki.
While searching for a lost item of Hinako’s, Iizuki encounters Ten’nouji Birei, a young lady who sees Hinako as a rival.
Furthermore, a mysterious girl who seems to know Iizuki appears!

Episode 2 of Saijo no Osewa will air on MBS, TV Tokyo, and BS Asahi starting July 11, 2026. The full broadcast schedule is as follows:

- BS Asahi: Every Friday from July 10 at 11:30 p.m.
Early streaming will be available on ABEMA, U-NEXT, and Anime Houdai starting July 4 at 27:08 (i.e., July 5 at 3:08 a.m.). General streaming on other platforms begins July 9.
