Tabekko Doubutsu LAND Returns with Starry Digital Upgrades and Exclusive Donuts

The beloved long-selling biscuit brand “Tabekko Doubutsu” invites fans to step into its whimsical world once again with the experiential indoor event “Tabekko Doubutsu LAND.” Now in its fifth iteration, the event has been reborn as “Tabekko Doubutsu MIRAI LAB. ~Hoshifuru Kirarium~” and is open for a limited time until September 27, 2026, at ASOBUILD YOKOHAMA COAST in Yokohama. The Anime! Anime! editorial team got a sneak peek at the press preview.

Having already surpassed 320,000 cumulative visitors, this new edition combines star, light, and digital effects to create a fresh experience. The centerpiece is the “Hoshifuru Kirarium” (map area 4): a massive circular LED monitor about 10 meters in diameter (roughly 30 meters in circumference) suspended above a ball pit filled with approximately 12,000 white balls. Guests can enjoy a dreamy ball-pool experience as if stars are raining down around them.

Two new “evolved” photo spots make use of video projections: the “Running! Tabekko Doubutsu Train” (map area 7) and the “Starry Ai-ai-gasa” (map area 8). The former lets you pose as if traveling through the night sky with the animal characters, while the latter offers photo and video opportunities under a starry umbrella. Videos are especially recommended for capturing the magic.

Every day, the “MIRAI LAB. Stage” (map area 13) features live appearances by the Tabekko Doubutsu characters. During the press preview, Raion-kun (the lion) came out to play, but the lineup changes daily. Special ticket holders can also enjoy a two-shot photo with the characters.

A dedicated web app adds a mission element: collect five “star fragments” around the venue to receive a “MIRAI Ticket.” Once the mission is completed, guests are randomly given one of nine designs of the ticket, each featuring a different Tabekko Doubutsu animal. The tickets resemble real train tickets and are quite charming. The pickup counter is at map area 10, and the promotion lasts while supplies last.

When hunger strikes, the venue-exclusive food and drink menu is a must-see. At the Food & Drink Area (map area 14), the highlight is the new “Tabekko Doubutsu DONUTS” — nine types of donuts that faithfully replicate the animal characters, each with its own unique flavor. The press preview sampled “Raion-kun ,” which was rich yet gently sweet, perfect for refueling after play. While this flavor is available throughout the entire event period, the other eight varieties rotate in limited-time appearances.

Separately, the Goods Shop (map area 15) offers a range of items themed around the “MIRAI LAB.” world, including star-motif accessories and exclusive key visual merchandise. Notably, the shop is open to non-ticket holders, so you can drop in just for shopping.

With many other areas to explore, the event is packed with highlights. The “Tabekko Doubutsu DONUTS” — which went viral on X (formerly Twitter) with about 1.5 million impressions for their faithful animal designs — can only be enjoyed at this venue. Why not make some special summer memories with the animal friends?
