Suica no Penguin is heading outdoors with LOGOS. A new collaboration between the beloved Suica character and the outdoor brand LOGOS will bring all-over-pattern bags to TRAINIART museum shops and other retailers. The Semiluna Basket launches on October 1, 2026 (Thursday), while the soft cooler follows on November 1, 2026 (Sunday).
A Character Born With Suica
Suica no Penguin came from Antarctica to Tokyo. Its favorite food is fish sausage, and it is modeled on the Adélie penguin, which actually lives in Antarctica. The character has no name because it is meant to serve as an ‘alter ego’ for each person’s IC card. When someone goes out with a Suica card or penguin goods, the character accompanies them as that alter ego.
Suica no Penguin has been familiar since 2001, when Suica was introduced. However, it has been decided that the character will ‘fly to a new place’ at the end of fiscal 2026, in March 2027. On September 8, JR East began a vote for a new character design and revealed three final candidates, bringing renewed attention to Suica no Penguin.
Suica no Penguin x LOGOS Collaboration Bags
The new items are collaborations based on popular LOGOS products and feature the adorable Suica no Penguin design. They are described as useful not only for picnics, camping, and park leisure, but also for everyday shopping and outings.
Semiluna Basket
The Suica no Penguin x LOGOS Semiluna Basket applies the character design to LOGOS’s folding basket. It has a large 35L capacity, enough for leisure goods and food. The basket can be quickly assembled for use and folded compactly for storage when not needed. The fabric portion is removable and can be hand-washed, making it suitable for outdoor and everyday use.
Soft Cooler
The Suica no Penguin x LOGOS Soft Cooler applies the character design to LOGOS’s popular soft cooler. It is designed to keep the cold air from a coolant (sold separately) from escaping and to keep drinks and food properly chilled.
The inner fabric has an antibacterial finish. When not in use, the cooler can be folded flat for storage, making it convenient to carry and store. It is suited to a wide range of outings, including picnics, camping, and sports watching.
The products are planned for sale at TRAINIART museum shops operated by JR East Commerce, as well as TRAINIART Railway Museum store, TRAINIART Tokyo Gransta store, and the online shop TRAINIART JRE MALL store. The online TRAINIART JRE MALL store will begin sales at 10:00 a.m. on the release date. They will not be sold at the Museum Shop TRAINIART Tokyo Station Gallery store.

Usage Notes: Semiluna Basket
- Remove the bottom board before washing.
- Hand-wash the fabric.
- Do not use bleach, machine drying, or dry cleaning.
- Do not wash with other items, as color transfer may occur.
- Dry thoroughly after washing and during storage, and store in a place with low humidity.
- Do not place sharp objects inside. Doing so may damage the product and is very dangerous.
- When assembling, use the included frame.
- Read the usage instructions on the back of the enclosed manual and assemble the product correctly before use.
Usage Notes: Soft Cooler
- Use a commercially available coolant.
- Do not put water or ice directly inside the cooler.
