Episode 6 of BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita aired on July 23, 2026, and brought the series’ villain Viola into direct contact with band member Tōko, leaving viewers in despair over what appears to be a successful brainwashing.
The episode opens with Arare’s manager scolding her for the fallout from the Fairy Buuke event, but unlike her middle school days, the manager understands that Arare is not entirely at fault and handles the aftermath properly. For the first time, the manager’s real appearance is revealed, and viewers were surprised to see it matches their virtual avatar. Arare is relieved to be told “it’s not your fault.”

Arare apologizes to her bandmates Nonoka, Yuno, and Tōko in the virtual space, but none of them blame her. Yuno tries to encourage Arare but ends up sounding harsh, a comedic moment. Tōko appears sleep-deprived, busy with bonus work for her manga tankobon. Arare, a dedicated fan, knows all about the pre-order bonuses.
Back in reality, Arare checks social media and sees the event trending with hateful comments, but also support. A flashback shows Arare’s past: after the initial incident, she struggled to sing, but a comment saying “the song isn’t bad” gave her hope. She eventually chose full-time high school and joined Myuutype, determined to fight this time.
At school, friends defend Arare, pointing out that posting a minor’s face online is a crime. Viewers agreed with the friends’ logic. Later, Arare meets Tōko and they visit a bookstore where Tōko’s author booth for “Fujimi Yako” is displayed. Arare is moved but also troubled, accidentally muttering “flaming.” Tōko overhears and feels helpless.
Then, for the first time in the series, Viola appears. Tōko is initially wary but quickly charmed by Viola’s flattery. That night, the manager announces that Ritsu will join Myuutype, with Fairy Buuke seemingly framing it as a poaching. Tōko seems dazed.
The next day, Tōko receives good news from her editor and goes to the bookstore, where Viola appears again, staging the meeting as fate. Viola manipulates Tōko, suggesting a live performance to show off her brilliance. Tōko later proposes the same idea to the group, parroting Viola’s words. Arare agrees, but the manager and Yuno oppose, warning it would add fuel to the fire. The episode ends with the discussion unresolved.
Viewers reacted with shock: “She’s been brainwashed!” “No way…” “This is definitely not a coincidence!” “The beginning of hell.” Viola’s cunning approach has clearly ensnared Tōko, and the next episode promises more tension.
