AKIBA-HOBBY Ikebukuro store will open a new event space on the floor above its current location starting July 31, 2026. The new area, called “AKIBA-HOBBY Ikebukuro Store Event Space,” adds both a permanent plushie shop and a multipurpose venue for exhibitions, pop-ups, and fan events.
About AKIBA-HOBBY
AKIBA-HOBBY operates stores in Akihabara and Ikebukuro, specializing in Touhou Project, Girls’ Frontline, and overseas game merchandise, along with figures, music CDs, games, and books. The company also has a store in Taipei and runs a mail-order division serving domestic and international customers.
Two New Spaces
The new floor will host two distinct areas:
Gift FUMOFUMO POP UP SHOP – A permanent retail space operated by Gift Co., Ltd., featuring the “Gift Fumofumo Series” of plush toys. Customers can see and touch the actual products before purchasing.
ART SPACE izanagi – A multipurpose space designed for a wide range of uses, including solo exhibitions and curated shows by illustrators and creators, pop-up shops for character goods and creator products, sales events, and fan gatherings.
With this expansion, the Ikebukuro store will enhance its functionality in both plushie sales and event hosting, offering visitors a more diverse experience.
